Keynote address — IMS Asia, Shanghai. September 2016.
Most keynote speakers tell you what they know. Shailendra Singh tells you what happened to him.
About the dyslexic kid from Mumbai who couldn't read properly and somehow ended up negotiating the largest cricket sponsorship deal in the history of the sport. About discovering Aishwarya Rai walking down Marine Drive and knowing, in that moment, what he was going to do next. About launching the Hero MotoCorp brand at the O2 Arena in London the night the city was burning in the 2011 riots. About sitting with Michael Douglas in Monaco, poolside, the day after his Palme d'Or.
Every story has a point. Every point lands because it actually happened — to him, not to some composite business school case study.
He has stood at the United Nations, the World Economic Forum, Barclays, IMS Asia Shanghai, the Amsterdam Night Mayor's Summit, Rothschild & Co, TIFF and hundreds of stages across India. He was India's first-ever TEDx speaker.
The credentials matter. But what people remember is the stories.
“The single most important factor that Shailendra Singh brought to the table for Hero is the emotional connect with the customer. He brings the same to his talks.”

Expect immediate positive and profound changes in your audience as Shailendra Singh shines the light of awareness on the difference between living and being truly alive. Through a quick, but detailed, calculation of the ‘Math of Life’ – from his bestselling book, F?@K Knows – he proves that we don’t have as much time on this planet as we think we do. Every breath should be celebrated, every dream – the bigger, the better! - should be chased.
Shailendra Singh explains how he combined his experience, skill sets and resources, with a strong sense of confidence and attitude developed from challenges and failures, with his passion for living and incepting new things, to become one of India’s most successful Creative Serial Entrepreneurs – 23 startups in 23 years. Hear the stories of how he represented almost the entire national cricket team, brokered the largest-ever sports sponsorship deal in history and lured Saurav Ganguly away from Worldtel with a $280 mn deal. Hear the epic adventures of launching the Hero Motocorp brand at the O2 Arena at the start of the 2011 England riots, being scammed by Akshay Kumar for millions of dollars and being the only person in India to have conquered and left his mark on so many different industries. He shares the true stories behind building the Percept Ltd empire - and why he risked everything to walk away from it all.
He speaks about : drawing a line and break the cycle of ‘earn, spend, repeat’; if you have no expectations, then you have no limits; ‘who are you? And what do you want’? ; and more learning from his life, voraciously lived – all applicable to the audiences personal, professional and organizational goals.
An entertaining, multimedia AV presentation, audience engagement, and Q&A opportunity accompany the talk.

Rags to Riches · 'Disability' to Advantage
The true story of India's Entertainment and Sports Guru — Serial Entrepreneur, Dyslexic, Creative Madman.
For: Youth · Education · Entertainment industries
Ages: 14–30 · Young at heart
Duration: Full 90 minutes | Keynote 45 minutes
The massive success of Sunburn - India’s second-ever exported intellectual property (after IPL) and 3rd largest dance music festival in the world – launched the festival industry in India and positioned it’s Inceptor, Shailendra Singh, as a Youth Icon. He has secured this spot by proving time and again that he has his finger on the pulse of the new, young India; launching I.P.s like the world record-breaking World’s Biggest Guestlist Festival, Power Arena and Boss Entertainment – India’s largest youth activation company.
Once personally valued at $23 mn, a darling of the media, he makes it look easy and glamorous, but for Shailendra Singh, the basics of life were never that simple. Having escaped communal riots in his village, barely able to afford the hotel room his family lived in Mumbai, Shailendra’s ADHD and dyslexia went undiagnosed all throughout school. By sheer determination, having an open heart and fast reflexes, he turned his ‘disability’ into an advantage and built the Percept Ltd empire.
Hear the incredible stories of how he discovered Aishwarya Rai walking down Marine Drive, convinced Priyadarshan to direct his only National Award winning film, built a friendship with Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, and stopped Amitabh Bachchan from releasing the film the legendary actor stole from him. A game-changer not just in entertainment, but across sports, advertising, media, music and philanthropy, there is absolutely no one like Shailendra Singh.
With it’s underlying theme of digging your own well of self-confidence, Singh is King is sure to inspire and motivate India’s 600 million under the age of 25, and all those still young at heart.
An entertaining, multimedia AV presentation, audience engagement, and Q&A opportunity accompany the talk.
